Sustainability at Qwintess

Sustainability is a hot topic — and one we talk about often with our clients.
But how sustainable are we really, here at Qwintess? We’ll let you decide.

I’d love to take you along on our sustainability journey so far, and invite you to share your thoughts, tips, or ideas.
Let’s head toward a greener world together. Are you in?

We truly believe in sustainability.
Our renovated office is fitted with solar panels — helping us shrink our ecological footprint and invest in a cleaner future.
On top of that, we’ve upgraded to energy-efficient lighting and insulation to further reduce our environmental impact.

Because building a sustainable world? That’s something we do together.

If you’ve visited our office, you’ve probably noticed “the bowling table”, our oversized conference table made from the wood of an old bowling alley.

We found it at Desko, a company that specializes in recycled and refurbished office furniture.
It’s sustainable, functional, and undeniably eye-catching.
It’s a table with a story — and the perfect place for new ones to be told.

Another standout piece is our round “basketball table”, made from a nostalgic section of the original wooden floor from the iconic Apollohal.
If you look closely, you can still spot the old floor drain right in the center.
A truly stunning piece, full of character.

We love finding creative ways to make sustainability part of our everyday.
Curious to see these pieces for yourself?
Drop by sometime, we’ll happily pour you a coffee (or tea) at one of these beautiful tables!

Transportation

At Qwintess, we’re all for electric driving, but we’re even bigger fans of the bicycle!
Most of us live (almost) around the corner, so what better way to unwind after a day at the office than a breezy ride home on your bike?

Notebooks and pencils

In today’s fast-paced digital world, it’s still nice to go a little old-school now and then — and jot down notes on actual paper.
While we aim to work as paperless as possible, we’ve found a sustainable workaround:
real Qwintess notebooks made from stone paper, paired with a pen that’s not only eco-friendly but also easy on the eyes — and yes, it writes like a charm.

Food and Beverage

We have lunch together at the office.
Could it be a bit more sustainable and healthy? Definitely.
We’ve started cutting back on cold cuts, but we haven’t introduced a weekly veggie day yet.
And that healthy alternative to the good old bread lunch? Still a work in progress.
Got tips, tricks, or easy recipes? We’re all ears!

One highlight we can brag about during lunch (or with our tea) is the honey from Vlakbij, made by the bees of our very own Eline Berg.
Local, sustainable, and seriously delicious!

Printer/scanner

As we mentioned earlier, we try to work as paperless as possible.
Still, sometimes printing is unavoidable — like when sending a letter to the tax authorities (most formal correspondence still prefers good old paper, unfortunately).
And we do a fair bit of scanning, too. That’s why we’ve invested in a refurbished multifunctional copy/print/scan machine, sustainable and practical.

All in all, we’ve taken some solid steps toward a more sustainable way of working, but we’re far from done.
That’s why we recently joined the SRA Sustainability Accelerator as one of twelve pioneering firms aiming to take sustainability even further.

The coffee is ready and there is plenty of room at the bowling table, get in touch.
